About Us
Nightingale's Caregivers Academy (NCA) is the first fully integrated vocational school for the training of professional and non-professional Caregivers in Nigeria. NCA is a proud member of the Wellcare Group, the first professionally run homecare company in Nigeria.
Candidates will be required to gain a basic understanding of responsibilities and accountability within their care practice. It also offers the opportunity to challenge thinking and develop a non judgemental approach to providing care and protection of individuals.
Professional Caregiver Training And Certification
Our team consist of specialists in senior care, these include medical practitioner, family medicine doctor, geriatrics specialist, registered nurse, certified dementia specialists, certified assessors and administrators.
The courses involve class work and practical on the field. It offers comprehensive coverage of the knowledge, skills and core values needed by workers to deliver effective and safe services. There are no finals, instead, you’ll graduate as a competent caregiver.
Caregivers Training Benefits
Most often, in-home care is provided by family members and sometimes a caregiver is hired to support the client’s family. Spouses, family members and friends carry out many important responsibilities such as personal care, transportation, management of finances and housekeeping.
The difference between a good home caregiver and a great one often comes down to training. Well-trained caregivers are better able to handle all the different situations that might arise on the job. They can prevent falls, injuries and hospitalizations. They can also help manage medications and take vital signs, recognize red-flags and act quickly if the patient is having a medical emergency. A good caregiver should also effectively communicate with the rest of the healthcare team in order to ensure no critical information is missed. Clients and their families can feel secure in the knowledge that a well-trained caregiver is competent and trustworthy.
